I don't know if it's any different on Kitkat, but you can customize the download location in Settings -> Storage and Backup -> Download location.

right. this is what is now broken due to kit-kat. When you try saving to that location you get an access denied error.

What you have to do to enable your podcasts to be stored on your SD is to use the folder that podkicker creates inside the '/storage/extSdCard/Android/data/com.podkicker/files/' folder on your SD card....

Rock on guys! This totally worked. I had no idea that podkicker was already creating a system folder on the external card during the install. I'm not sure why I didn't check that. Thank you so much!
